“Your will be done” may be the most challenging line in this prayer. It sounds simple, but it means loosening your grip and surrendering your plans, your timing, and your preferences.
You naturally want to see the full path before taking the first step. But trust doesn’t work that way. It requires you to rely on God rather than your own understanding. He sees what you can’t. He leads with purpose, even when the process feels unclear or costly.
Holding tightly to control keeps you tense. Trusting God and his plans is like finally releasing that grip and allowing him to lead. This is a deliberate choice to align your life with something bigger and better than your own perspective allows you to see.
Reflect: Where are you resisting God’s will and holding too tightly to your own?
Pray: God, I want your will more than my own. Show me where I’ve been clinging to control and teach me to trust you. Give me courage to follow when the path feels unclear. Let your will shape my decisions today. Amen.
