Proverbs 31:10-31 describes a “virtuous woman,” an “excellent wife.” But the original Hebrew uses the word “Eshet Chayil,” which means “woman of valor.” Throughout the Bible, there are remarkable stories of women who were brave, strong, and steady under pressure. They were difference-makers in the world, and we can learn from their stories what it looks like to be a “woman of valor” today.
