Look back for a moment. Think about the seasons you’ve barely made it through—the battles, the betrayals, the moments you felt stretched too thin. When you reflect on them now, you notice something: God was with you. He carried you through. He met you when you had nothing left to give.
David knew this. He had lived through his own impossible seasons, and he wrote this prayer as a reminder to himself. After all the failures, the rescue, the forgiveness, and the restoration, he tells his soul to remember—remember God’s goodness. Remember his mercy. Remember his faithfulness.
Giving God our praise anchors us. It reminds us that God has always been in the middle of our struggles, and it pulls our hearts back to truth when life tries to pull us somewhere else. Praise gives you confidence for what’s ahead because it points to the God who brought you through.
Reflect: What has God done in these last twenty-one days—or in the seasons before—that you don’t want to forget?
Pray: God, thank you for meeting me in the hardest days and carrying me when I felt weak. Remind me of the ways you have shown your presence, strength, and mercy. I don't want to forget what you have done. Let all that I am praise you, always. Amen.
