Today sets up one of the greatest showdowns of all time. Moses does what God has told him to do, but unfortunately, Pharaoh, the king of Egypt, decides he really doesn鈥檛 need to obey God. He increases his unjust treatment of the people of Israel and openly opposes God. Opposition to God is a dangerous thing.</p><p> Although I haven鈥檛 always done everything God would want me to do, I don鈥檛 think I have ever defied God as directly as Pharaoh does here. However, I know people who do. I have also heard stories in which God has taken pretty drastic action to get people鈥檚 attention. I hope I鈥檓 never stubborn enough to need the kind of reminder of God鈥檚 power that Pharaoh is about to receive.
