For a child is born to us, a son is given to us. The government will rest on his shoulders. And he will be called: Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. - Isaiah 9:6
When we visit the ocean, we spend most of our time in the shallows, splashing and playing. The sea appears safe and mild. The Same Ocean we play in can also create tsunamis and sink battleships. We could become permanently lost in its absolute greatness. Jesus can also be the same. Churches give countless messages of Jesus' warmth, love, and humility. These things are all true, but not the whole story.
Jesus is also our Mighty God. Jesus is powerful and capable of anything. Many of us forget the scope and might of our Lord when we face troubles in life. We have grown accustomed to telling our God about the size of our storms instead of telling our storms the size of our God. As followers of Jesus, we can face life's obstacles with the boldness of knowing that a Mighty God with unfathomable power and ability is on our side and wants the best for us.
This week rest in the peace of knowing that Jesus is on your side, and he is more powerful than you can even imagine. Take heart knowing that you are in the arms of a Mighty God.
