Read: Psalm 23:1-6Luke 22:54-62John 21:15-19

Jesus not only provides and protects, but he also invites us to be a part of something greater. Psalm 23 talks about a host preparing a table and anointing his guests with oil. Both revolve around the idea of being promoted to a place of honor. The amazing thing about having a seat at Jesus’ table is that it doesn’t require being perfect. Jesus calls everyone to this table. The broken, dirty, forgotten, tired, hopeless, afraid, and the list goes on. All are welcomed to sit with Jesus in his presence and the more time we spend at this table, the more clear our purpose becomes.

Peter’s life was far from perfect. We see him speak up, step out, and serve. But we also see him doubt, deny, and hide. Peter had denied following Jesus not once, but three times. But Jesus didn’t turn away from Peter despite his mistakes. Instead, he gave him three opportunities to redeem himself. In the same way, we are called to come back, despite our mistakes, and love Jesus fully again. Jesus calls Peter to “feed my sheep” and calls us up to do the same thing: to love and care for his people, showing them that rest is possible through Jesus. Who in your life needs rest right now? How can you show them Jesus’ love?
