Read:
David wrote this prayer after years of living in survival mode. He faced battles, betrayals, victories, failures, and knew what it felt like to be drained and pushed past his limits. Through it all, David still gave God credit for every ounce of strength he had.
He understood something we often forget: our faith doesn't get stronger from trying harder. It comes from God. The world tells us to grind harder, push and power through. But true strength begins with honesty, when you finally say, “God, I cannot do this on my own.”
Think of a tree in a storm. The wind doesn’t make it strong. The roots do. Strength grows in the unseen places, where life is sustained. The same is true for you. The strength you need comes from staying rooted in God, not in your own willpower.
Reflect: Where are you running on empty and trying to push through alone?
Pray: God, I feel the weight of what I’m carrying. I’m done trying to be strong without you. Make me steady where I feel shaken. Make me bold where I feel weak. Help me walk in the power you provide, not the power I try to create. Amen.
