Read:
Proverbs calls pride a warning sign for a reason. It can look like defensiveness, needing to win the argument, or avoiding the vulnerability of asking for help. It convinces you that you’re fine on your own.
The biggest problem with pride is it blocks what God wants to build in you. Like a boulder in the ground, nothing healthy can take root underneath it.
But humility makes space again. It keeps you teachable and open. It allows God to shape you through people, feedback, and even though life lessons. Inviting you to search God for pride is a conscious choice: growth and maturity over ego and self-centeredness.
Reflect: Where might pride be limiting your growth right now?
Pray: God, search me and show me where pride is shaping my reactions and decisions. If I’ve been quick to defend myself or slow to listen, I don’t want to stay that way. Teach me humility and give me the courage to receive correction from you and others so I can grow. Amen.
