Fear rarely stays just a feeling. It becomes a voice that questions your readiness and warns you not to move. It tells you you’re on your own, and that stepping forward could cost you more than you’re prepared to lose.
Isaiah speaks directly into that voice. God doesn’t keep his distance from you. He comes close. He takes your hand and says, “I am here to help you.” Faith means choosing to trust that when God says this, he means it.
Asking God to search you for fear allows this faith and trust to take its place. God will show you where fear has been making decisions for you so you can ask him to help you make them instead—with confidence.
Reflect: Where has fear been shaping your decisions or limiting your faith?
Pray: God, search me and show me where fear has been leading instead of trust. I see how it has shaped my choices, and I don’t want it directing my next step. Remind me that you’re close, and that you’re holding my hand. Help me to trust you and move forward even when I feel unsure. Amen.
